Badminton Association of India (BAI) president Akhilesh Das Gupta  announced a cash award of Rs 5 lakh each to World No. 2 Saina Nehwal and Commonwealth Games champion P Kashyap for their impressive performance on the international stage.

Both Saina and Parupalli Kashyap  had won the Syed Modi Grand Prix Gold in January at Lucknow and the former even became the first Indian woman to reach the finals of the All England Superseries Premier
